This is a food court with style. Yes, located at Kemang Raya (A one-way street with the Kemang Food Festival stretched out on the left hand side) with many foods to choose from and a street feel to add to the festive ambience, you name it and you get it! From stalls like Chubby Burger, Raja Bubur (freely translated as Porridge’s King), Oh La La café, Opi’s Kebab, Mangkok Putih (noodles), dimsum and other Chinese cuisine to Japanese, meatballs (known as Bakso), traditional chicken or beef satay, a variety of other Indonesian food, and much more. Jakarta youngsters love to hang out at Kemang Food Festival, likely due to its good tasting delights and friendly price.
Since Kemang Food Festival is on the main road you will have to park at the parking space, just right in front of it. Across the street you will see so many food stalls to choose from, you won’t even know where to start. Don’t wait to be seated, just pick one table which is vacant. Then go directly to the vendor you want to order your food from. For example, if you want to try the dimsum, go to the dimsum stall mendor and order the different pieces you want and that’s it. The server will deliver your sizzling dimsums to your table.
On the weekends and especially Saturday night, Kemang Food Festival is extremely packed. It is mostly packed with the trendy young people of Jakarta craving for late night snacks. To quote one of them, “Here, is definitely a place to see and be seen! A great place to hang out and people watch, if you know what I mean…” Well, I definitely do and couldn’t agree more. To understand the life present in Jakarta’s streets, this place will likely be the spot to get a glimpse of it.
